Bon Air Baptist Church

Bon Air Baptist Church is a church in Richmond, VA, with multiple indoor pickleball courts. The courts are free to use during open play hours every Monday and Wednesday. This is a welcoming community that’s ideal for new players or those looking to gain confidence on the pickleball court.
The open play hours are subject to change based on church events, but you can confirm the schedule by sending an email to re*************@bo***********.org, the contact for the church calendar coordination.

Downtown Richmond YMCA

The Richmond YMCA downtown location offers two indoor pickleball courts available by reservation during select hours. The YMCA is a wonderful spot in the community for families to get active with something for all ages and physical ability levels. If you’re a member, it’s free to reserve pickleball court time! Non-members can pay a fee to play.

Ramsey Memorial United Methodist Church

Ramsey Memorial United Methodist Church is a laid-back environment to connect with other players on three indoor pickleball courts. You don’t have to join the church to use the courts, but most players are already members or those interested in becoming members of the church.
Bring your own equipment to play pickleball here because their website doesn’t say if they have equipment on hand. This is a good example of why it’s never a bad idea to keep portable nets with your pickleball gear!

Second Baptist Church

Second Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, has a multipurpose gymnasium used for a variety of fun sports, games, and activities. One of those activities is pickleball! Engage in a little friendly competition during open play hours on Tuesdays. A fee is not required to play, but a donation to the church is appreciated.
If you’re new to pickleball, there are special introductory hours every Monday where someone will teach you and a group of other beginners the basics of the game before you jump into open play with higher skill levels.

Weinstein JCC

Weinstein JCC is a center with activities for all ages. From preschool gymnastics to personal trainers for adults, the entire family can get their daily exercise at Weinstein JCC. One of the many programs offered is adult pickleball clinics. Clinics are done in 4-week sessions with lessons once a week to improve your skills.
While the center doesn’t currently offer open play hours for pickleball, you can certainly use your Pickleball Clinic skills at other pickleball courts in Richmond throughout the week.

Eastern Henrico Recreation Center

The Eastern Henrico Recreation Center is a short 15-minute drive from Richmond, Virginia. This center offers seniors-only pickleball hours for ages 50 and up every Tuesday and Thursday. Balls and paddles are provided. You just have to show up!
Local pickleball legend Mike Roberts, also known as Pickleball Mike, has been teaching and promoting pickleball in the area for more than ten years, and this rec center is one of his most highly recommended pickleball locations for seniors.

Scott Pickleball Center in Rockwood Park

The Scott Pickleball Center at Rockwood Park is one of the nicest outdoor pickleball court locations in the Richmond area. The pickleball center features eight dedicated pickleball courts that are well-lit for early morning and late-night play. The courts have permanent nets, but you’ll need to bring your own paddles and balls.

Harry G. Daniel Park

Harry G. Daniel Park, also known as Ironbridge Park, is a 187-acre park with fitness trails, a playground, a golf course, and much more to explore. The park has six dedicated pickleball courts with lights for evening play. This park is located in North Chesterfield, just a short drive from Richmond. The courts are never empty, so it’s a great place to learn and connect with other players in your area.

RVA Pickle-Ball

RVA Pickle-Ball is a new facility that opened in 2021. This pickleball center has 12 outdoor composite courts that are free to use. If you want to improve your pickleball skills, you can register for classes based on your current skill level. The people that play here have formed a close community that’s always open to new players!
