5th Annual Gainseville Indoor Pickleball Showcase
08/06-08/07/2022 – Legacy Park Multipurpose Center, Alachua, FL, United States
The 5th Annual Gainseville Indoor Pickleball Showcase will be held at Legacy Park Multipurpose Center in Alachua, FL, on August 6th and 7th.
The tournament will have divisions for all ages and skill levels, will be run round-robin style, and medals will be given to first, second, and third place for each division.
Tournament registration includes a T-shirt and is discounted if you register by September. The proceeds of the tournament benefit elder care programs in Alachua county.
2022 Florida Georgia Pickleball Classic
10/28-10/30/2022 – Treaty Park, St. Augustine, FL, United States
Northern Florida in the fall makes for a great time to play pickleball, so the 2022 Florida Georgia Pickleball Classic scheduled for October 28th through 30th should be on your calendar. It is being held at Treaty Park in St. Augustine.
The tournament will have Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Singles and Doubles games with skill level divisions within each and six age groups within each skill level.
Central Florida Tournaments
Ladies Pickleball Tournament
8/12-8/13/2022 – USTA National Campus, Orlando, FL, United States
The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is hosting a Ladies Pickleball Tournament at their National Campus in Orlando on August 12th and 13th.
As its name suggests, the tournament is only open to women but will offer four age brackets starting at age 19 and two skill levels within each age group. Round Robin format will be used for the first three rounds, then playoffs from there to decide medal winners.
2022 National Deaf Pickleball Tournament
11/03-11/06/2022 – Rohan’s Recreation Center Courts, Wildwood, FL, United States
The 2022 National Deaf Pickleball Tournament is hosted by The Deaf Senior Citizens and is open to any deaf or hard of hearing players over the age of 19 with at least a 3.0 pickleball skill rating.
It is the second year of this event, and this year will be held November 3rd through 6th at Rohan’s Recreation Center’s Courts. There will be several divisions for various ages, singles, doubles, women, men, and mixed games.
On Saturday night, there will also be an optional banquet, which is a great way to celebrate with those who competed all weekend.
2022 USA Pickleball Diamond Amateur Championship
12/01-12/07/2022 – Pictona, Holly Hill, FL, United States
2022 will be the inaugural year for the USA Diamond Amateur Championship. It takes place at Pictona at Holly Hill, December 1st through 7th.
This is a USA Pickleball sanctioned event and is the culmination of twelve regional championships. Gold medalists from the Diamond Amateur Championship will get pre-registration tickets to next year’s USA Pickleball National Championship.
A round-robin format followed by a double-elimination championship will be used in each bracket to allow for more players. Unlike some of the more informal tournaments on this list, this one offers a high level of play for pickleball players starting at eight years old.
South Florida Tournaments
Men’s Sanibel Island Summer Bash
7/30/22 – Sundial Beach Resort & Spa, Sanibel, FL, United States
The Men’s Sanibel Island Summer Bash is taking place on July 30th at Sundial Beach Resort and Spa.
Players will be divided by skill level and age group. Players must have a 3.0 or greater skill level and be at least eight years old. A round-robin format will be used so that players get the opportunity for multiple games!
Women’s Sanibel Island Summer Bash
08/27/22 – Sundial Beach Resort & Spa, Sanibel Island, FL, United States
Women will have their own Sanibel Island Summer Bash at the Sundial Beach Resort on August 27th. It will run exactly like the Men’s Summer Bash, but of course, it is only open to women.
2022 United Way Pickleball Tournament
08/11-08/13/2022 – Havert L. Fenn Center, Fort Pierce, FL, United States
The 2022 United Way Pickleball Tournament, hosted at The Havert L. Fenn Center in Fort Pierce, FL, will be run differently than most tournaments.
Each event will be based on age only and not skill level, so though they have a minimum entry requirement of a 2.5 skill rating, a player with a 2.5 rating could play one with a 4.0 rating. This is a great way for players to hone their game and play against a wide variety of skill levels.

Is there a magazine published about pickleball?

There are a couple of pickleball magazines that we know of. “Pickleball Magazine” is published seven times a year, with six bi-monthly issues and one special issue. The other pickleball magazine that we’re most familiar with is “In Pickleball.” This magazine is published ten times a year with monthly issues, but January/February and July/August are combined into single issues.
I,m looking to enter my first PB tournament but not sure where I should look. Im 72 and have been playing PB for about 9 months but as an x tennis/racquet ball player I can generally hold my own.
